Manchester United defender Phil Jones has withdrawn from the England squad with injury.

Jones has left the England training camp to head back to Manchester in order to receive treatment on his injury, which he picked up whilst training with his country this week.

England have refused to disclose the nature of his injury, but he will certainly miss the matches against Germany and Lithuania this week.

Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate says that he will not be calling up a replacement at this moment in time. However, he will reassess the situation after the friendly against Germany in case there are any further hindrances.

The 25-year-old has only started 14 Premier League matches for Manchester United this season, with injuries being the main stumbling block for more game-time.

This will come as a big blow to both England and Manchester United, but England still have the likes of Chris Smalling, Gary Cahill and John Stones to call upon.

Although, Cahill is suspended for the World Cup Qualifier against Lithuania on Sunday.
