Portugal and Mexico shared the spoils in their first group game as they held each other to a 2-2 draw in the Confederations Cup.

The video assistant referee was tested early on. Pepe thought he had given Portugal the lead but it was ruled out after the referee conferred with his staff.

Portugal did, though, take the lead minutes later. Ronaldo played the ball across the box and Ricardo Quaresma sold Ochoa before tapping the ball into an empty net.

Mexico were able to find an equaliser towards the end of the first-half. Javier Hernandez leap in front of his markers to head the ball into the bottom corner and draw his side level.

An own goal from Hector Herrera looked to have won the game for Portugal but Hector Moreno equalised in the last-minute from a corner to earn Mexico a point.
