England could secure their place at next year’s World Cup in Russia on Thursday evening with a win over Slovenia.
The Three Lions currently sit at the top of their group and will know that their work is done if they can clinch all three points when Slovenia come to Wembley.
Gareth Southgate has had to deal with some injury worries ahead of the game, but has a group of largely in-form players who will be keen to maintain their momentum for the international clash.
Here’s how we expect England to line up against Slovenia!
Joe Hart
Hart is still regarded as England’s number one and is in line to start.
Kyle Walker
Walker is a shoe-in at right-back and is all but set to start.
Gary Cahill
Cahill is set to be the experienced head at the back.
John Stones
Stones’ good club form with Manchester City is likely to be rewarded with a start against Slovenia.
Ryan Bertrand
With Danny Rose still absent, Bertrand is set to retain his place on the left.
Eric Dier
Dier is set to be one of the two defensive midfielders.
Jordan Henderson
Henderson is nailed on to start given England’s shortage of central midfield options.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
With Dele Alli suspended, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be given the chance to impress.
Raheem Sterling
Sterling is another who has been in good form recently, and he’s set to start.
Marcus Rashford
Rashford is likely to be given a starting berth on the left wing.
Harry Kane
Kane is the undisputed first choice striker for England and he’s been in red hot form. He’ll be the England captain for the game.
