England finished their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign off with a win away at Lithuania on Sunday evening.

The Three Lions took the trip to the LFF Stadium in the search of another game without a loss, and came away with all three points as a result of a strike from Harry Kane.

Dele Alli was brought down in the area midway through the half, and Kane duly dispatched from the spot to clinch what was a somewhat unconvincing win for England.

Gareth Southgate heavily rotated his side and even gave full debuts to some players. There were no standout performers on the day, but our man of the match has to be Harry Winks.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder made his first ever appearance for England’s senior side and while the quality of opposition must be taken into consideration, he was impressive.

Winks moved the ball quickly and efficiently, helping England to build from deep and helping them to progress the play. He looked at home in the middle and was confident when driving forward.

The youngster will now surely hope to kick on with Spurs and force his way into Southgate’s plans ahead of the next batch of international fixtures next month.
