England and Germany played out a goalless draw at Wembley Staduim on Tuesday night.
Brazil dominated the game throughout, but struggled to create to many clear-cut chances despite having Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and Philippe Couthino up front.
England frustrated the visitors for large parts of the match, although they, too, struggled to create many opportunities in front of goal.
England, for the second game in succession, looked very comfortable at the back with the three at the back system seemingly working defensively.
The game finished 0-0, and provided plenty for Gareth Southgate to consider.
Here are our England player ratings.
Joe Hart - 6
Made a couple of brilliant saves in the first half, but largely had a quiet night.
Kyle Walker- 7
A solid performance from the Manchester City man, who continues to impress. Wasn’t able to get forward as much as usual but his defensive game was solid.
Joe Gomez - 8
On his full debut, it was a strong performance from the Liverpool player, who looked really assured on the right hand side of the back three.
John Stones - 8
He just gets better every time you see him play. He was once more very composed on the ball and dealt with anything thrown at him.
Harry Maguire - 7
Another composed performance at the back for Maguire, who looks set to be Southgate’s preferred player on the left of the back three.
Ryan Bertrand - 6
Much like Walker, he was unable to get forward as much as he would have liked to. A few sloppy passes in there, but overall a decent showing from the Southampton man.
Jake Livermore - 5
Not the best performance from Livermore and, truth be told, he really looks out of his depth at international level.
Eric Dier - 7
A strong performance from the England captain on the night. He led the team well and played some nice passes whilst also being a threat from corners.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek - 6
Came off after just 34 minutes, so it’s difficult to make a proper judgement on the Crystal Palace loanee.
Jamie Vardy - 7
A quiet night from Vardy but he never stopped running and gave everything for the cause. Got in behind on a couple of occasions but couldn’t make anything of it.
Marcus Rashford- 7
Much like Stones, he looks better with every game which you see him play. Held the ball well and played some key passes, running the England front line well.
Substitutes
Jesse Lingard – 6 – Having replaced Loftus-Cheek in the first-half, you would have expected more from the Manchester United man.
Dominic Solanke – 6- A positive debut from the Liverpool player, including a couple of a pacy runs. Came close to scoring but couldn’t quite get it out his feet to get a shot off at goal.
Tammy Abraham – 6- Wasn’t on for too long but performed relatively well.
Ashley Young – 6 – Made a crucial block within seconds of coming on but other than that, it was a quiet spell at left-back for the Manchester United player.
Danny Rose – N/A – The Spurs man was on for a matter of minutes.
