Netherlands have appointed former Everton and Southampton boss Ronald Koeman as their new manager,it has been confirmed.
The Dutchman has been out of work only since October, with Everton relieving him of his duties as the club’s manager as a result of a series of underwhelming displays at the start of the season.
Koeman enjoyed success during his two-year stint at Southampton, helping them achieve club-record finishes in consecutive seasons, but has struggled to hit the same heights since.
He does, however, boast experience of managing in the Eredivisie. During his managerial career, Koeman has managed all of Vitesse, Ajax, PSV, AZ Alkmaar and lastly Feyenoord.
Koeman is one of the most illustrious ever Dutch footballers and enjoyed plenty of success during his playing days for his country.
His first task will be securing qualification to the 2020 European Championships after the Netherlands failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
