David Moyes says that Joe Hart knows that his World Cup spot in Russia next summer is under threat after missing out on West Ham’s clash with his former club Manchester City, as per a report from the Daily Mail.

Joe Hart’s position as number one goalkeeper for England is under threat due to the form of Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland.

Hart appears to be slipping down the pecking order and the number of mistakes made is something that he cannot afford if he is to make the plane to Russia. The goalkeeper was ineligible for the City clash meaning that Adrian stepped in.

The Spaniard impressed when given the chance and his form now looks set to keep Hart out of the team for the visit of Chelsea on Saturday.

David Moyes said:

I’m sure he is aware of that, but I’m sure he also knows that if he performs well here, it’s really important for him. He’s done really well in some of the games so far. We’ve needed him for his leadership, his organisation. He’s a man for us in the dressing room. These things are also important. He’s someone who is always out trying to help the team.

Hart’s position as West Ham’s first choice keeper has come under fire due to his performance in the 4-0 loss to Everton last Wednesday.

His sloppy clearance led to Wayne Rooney firing a marvellous goal from the half-way line, which completed his hat-trick and left the England shot-stopper red-faced.
