Senegal and Colombia will battle it out for qualification in Group H, on a matchday that no one can predict.

Senegal know that a draw will be enough to take them into the knockout stages, while Colombia will require all three points to progress without relying on Japan’s result.

There is a possible chance that both Senegal and Colombia can both qualify from Group H. If that game ends a draw and Poland beat Japan, then Colombia will edge the second place over the Japanese on goal difference.

Colombia will have huge confidence going into the match, following their impressive 3-0 win over Poland. Senegal will also have their heads held high in the build-up as they played out a 2-2 draw with fellow qualification-chasers Japan.

Team news

Carlos Sanchez could return to the starting XI for Colombia following his suspension in their first game against Japan. The Colombia boss Jose Pekermen dedicated their 3-0 win over Poland to him after the midfielder had received death threats as a result of his sending off.

This victory is dedicated to Carlos Sanchez, He has had a very hard time over these last few days. We achieved this win and I wanted to share it with him, I’m expressing it personally but all the squad feel it.

For Senegal, there are no injury concerns but may be tempted to act more defensive against Colombia, knowing a point will be enough for them.
