The World Cup is the biggest football tournament on the planet and as such, plenty goes on, both on and off the field. To keep updated with everything that happened at the tournament on day 19, including results, news and funny moments, check out our latest round-up:
Brazil 2-0 Mexico
Brazil booked a place in the quarter-finals after beating a stubborn Mexico side. Neymar scored the first goal of the game after a brilliant bit of work from Willian that saw the PSG forward tap in from close range early in the second half.
Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino came off the bench to make it two in the final moments when he also scored from close range after Neymar was denied by Guillermo Ochoa.
The game itself was not one that will live long in the memory of neutrals, but Brazil got the job done and will meet Belgium in the next round.
Belgium 3-2 Japan
What a game of football.
After being 2-0 down, Belgium came back to score with the last kick of the game to book their Quarter Final place. Japan started the second half strong, scoring two goals in 10 minutes. Belgium then got a goal through Jan Vertonghen, before Marouane Fellaini got the equaliser. With the final kick of the game, West Brom’s Nacer Chadli scored the winner on the counter to send Belgium through to play Brazil in the Semifinal.
Pekerman provides update on Rodriguez's fitness
Speaking ahead of the meeting with England, Jose Pekerman was coy when quizzed on the fitness of James Rodriguez.
Colombia’s star man was a doubt for the England game after being forced off injured against Senegal.
“We still have one-and-a-half days to see how he feels.”
Curry for Mrs Delph
England boss Gareth Southgate has joked that Fabian Delph has been ordering his wife curries to speed up their birthing process.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Southgate addressed Delph’s situation, with the midfielder returning home to be alongside his wife for the birth of their child.
“Some things in life are more important than football. His wife is due to go into labour. His focus needs to be with his family at his time. He is buying his wife curries to aid the speed of process!”
New hair for Kyle
Kyle Walker is expected to show off a brand new hairdo when England face Colombia on Tuesday night.
The Manchester City defender has reportedly dyed his hair blonde, which can be shown creeping through his hat in some training pictures, but he was keeping a lid on things prior to the game.
They do say blondes have more fun…
