France 1-0 Belgium
France booked their place in the World Cup final with a narrow victory over Belgium. It was a tight affair throughout and just the one goal separated the two teams. Samuel Umtiti rose the highest at a corner to power beyond Thibaut Courtois, helping Didier Deschamps’ men to the final of the illustrious competition. France will now wait to see whether they will face England or Croatia in the final on Sunday as the two teams lock horns on Wednesday evening.
Aldi promise to close early
Aldi have confirmed that they will shut their stores at 3pm if England reach the World Cup final.
They claim that they do not want their staff to miss out on the moment, so everyone will be given an early finish.
Museum of London eyes Southgate's waistcoat
The Museum of London have their sights set on Gareth Southgate’s waistcoat.
The England boss has hit the headlines for his fashion sense throughout the tournament and the famous waistcoat is now in demand.
Senior fashion curator Beatrice Behlen explained, “Gareth Southgate is reviving that London tradition and bringing waistcoats home to the forefront of fashion.
“This acquisition would be a fantastic addition to our holdings and would come at an exciting time for us while we build the London Collection as we plan the New Museum in West Smithfield.”
Walker's amazing gesture
Following the news that the young group of Thai footballers have made a safe exit from the cave that they had been trapped in, Kyle Walker has reached out with a brilliant gesture.
The Manchester City defender tweeted asking for help so he could send them all England shirts.
The young boys were said to be desperate to hear all about the World Cup.
Why did the chicken cross the training ground?
It’s fair to say that England’s training methods throughout the World Cup have been a little different.
The players have previously been pictured racing on inflatables in a swimming pool and now throwing around a rubber chicken. It clearly had them in good spirits!
The Three Lions were put through their paces ahead of Wednesday night’s meeting with Croatia, with a place in the World Cup final at stake.
Atletico Madrid could hand England a boost
Atletico Madrid could reportedly step in to prevent Sime Vrsaljko from playing against England.
The right-back is an injury doubt for the game and is unlikely to be fully fit.
However, as expected, the player is said to be desperate to feature.
There are concerns in Spain that he could go on to suffer a serious injury if he does play on Wednesday night.
