England manager Gareth Southgate is in talks to extend his current deal with the country.

According to Sky Sports news, Southgate is dicussing a new contract with The FA after his impressive year in charge.

Southgate led England to the semi-finals of the World Cup in the summer in Russia, as they lost to Croatia – the eventual runners-up to France.

Despite his impressive showing at the World Cup, England have lost their last three competitive fixtures.

The latest of which came against Spain in England’s first ever Nations League earlier this month.

Southgate was the manager of England’s under-21 side before he took over from Sam Allardyce – who left his post after one game due to an investigation into the former West Ham manager.
