In a quite astonishing move, the World Anti-Doping Agency have banned Russia from competing in any major sporting event for four years. The ban means that athletes will not be able to compete whilst representing Russia at events such as the 2020 Olympics and 2022 football World Cup, although those athletes who can prove they are untainted by the doping scandal will be able to compete under a neutral flag.
